Challenge Accepted! – An Interview with Cristina321

Cristina Interview

Hello everyone, and welcome to another Challenge Accepted! I thought it would be fun to get to know some of the Simmers that play the Legacy Challenge, Wonder Child Challenge, and/or Apocalypse Challenge (and any other challenges that we post here), so I am going to be sending out interview questions to Simmers to learn more about them and how they got into the Sims. If you would like to participate, please let me know!

This week’s Challenge Accepted! features Cristina321 a Sims 4 Twitch streamer and Youtuber. Cristina frequently plays Sims 4 challenges created by us on her Twitch channel and will upload the videos to Youtube for you to watch whenever. She has played the Wonder Child Challenge, Apocalypse Challenge, and the Legacy Challenge. Here is what she has to say:

Mystic: When did you start playing The Sims?

I started playing the Sims about a month after the Sims 1 came out.  My step-brothers always hogged the N64 and playstation so my step-sister and I got to pick a computer game to play but we had to play together.  The Sims fit that perfectly since they basically let you play however you want.  It turned into a great way for us to bond.  My step-sister eventually grew out of her video game phase and at the same time video games became my life.

What made you decide to try the Legacy Challenge and/or other player-made challenges for the game?

I was looking for a way to get more staying power in my game.  The Legacy challenge was the first challenge I ever did for The Sims.  I never really kept up with the scoring on the Legacy Challenge because I am just doing a personal challenge.  I also decided to get into challenges because I would always do the same things. 1. Create Beautiful Family 2. Motherlode until crazy rich 3. Make giant house with everything in it 4. Get bored very quick 5. Start Over.  The challenges really gave me goals to reach.  That’s why the Wonderchild Challenge is one of my favorites.  It’s quick but it has very specific rules so I can do it in a few hours of game play and feel very accomplished.  I like to think I have one of the higher scores for that challenge. What is your favorite game and expansion pack for the franchise?

My favorite expansion is Sims 2: Nightlife.  I thought it was so fun to go on dates and get gifts the next day.  That was really my favorite part of it.  I loved having my sim receive flowers if it was a great date! I would collect those.  I know we still get them in the Sims 4 but there’s something about really special about having a delivery on the doorstep instead of it going straight into the family inventory.  It was the details in the Sims 2 that made it my favorite game, although they are starting to really bring this into the Sims 4, so I’m very excited to see where they take this.  I feel like they are listening to the fans.

What is your favorite Sims challenge to Let’s Play/Stream/write about?

My favorite challenge to stream is the Wonderchild Challenge.  Mainly because I can finish it in one stream.  It’s a challenge where every move you make matters and I think that’s what a challenge really is.  This challenge does not exist in any other form since most challenges are focused on when the Sims are adults.  I also like to beat my previous score.  I think I’ve streamed it 4 times.

Of all of your Sims, who is your favorite?

Asteria Grave (pictured above)! I think she’s the coolest sims I’ve ever made.  I’m not sure why but I think if I could look however I wanted, you know, a job preverts that, she is how I would want to look.  I have really had a good time with the Sims 4 outfits.  I think that their clothes, while not having the color wheel, have become super customizable.  Depending on how you combine colors and designs, you could never repeat a look for a long time.

Thanks for taking the time to answer our questions, Cristina!
