The Money Tree in the Sims 4 Legacy Challenge

A few people have been asking whether the money tree aspiration reward from the Sims 4 Seasons expansion is allowed in the Legacy Challenge. Pinstar has decided to not allow the use of this aspiration reward as it can be extremely powerful (in that yours Sims can get a lot of simoleons easily). The rules have been updated to reflect this change. You can purchase the reward if you want, you just can’t use it (much like the elixer of life in Sims 2).

Thank you to those of you who have pointed this out to us. We actually hadn’t used the money tree yet and were unaware of this.

The Legacy Challenge Rules have been updated to include all current packs!

Hi everyone! As promised, Pinstar and I looked through the Legacy Challenge rules and updated/added/changed a few things to reflect changes and additions in the current packs. We didn’t make any MAJOR changes to the challenge but here is a list of the things updated:

  • We reworded the Parenthood section of the Scoring page as it was causing some confusion in the way it was written previously.
  • We have changed the collections part of the Nature section of the scoring page to say 13 out of 26 possible collections. You will not need to collect everything in all 26 categories. Just 13 (which was the original number). 13 will continue to be the set number for collections regardless of how many new collections are added to the game.
  • We have updated the Popularity section of the Scoring page to include toddler playdates if you have the Toddler Stuff Pack
  • We will not be updating the rules to include adopting or breeding pets as they take up a slot that will otherwise be used by a Legacy Sim.
  • Gameplay Rules have had a few minor tweaks and additions
  • The Fortune section of the Scoring page was updated to include veterinary clinic funds in the total household net worth (just like family owned businesses would be)
  • The FAQ has been updated to include the question about pets since that is a common question we are asked.
  • The Random Trait Generators were updated on Thursday to include the new aspirations from Jungle Adventure Pack

If you have any questions about these updates/changes please let us know in the comments below!

Wonder Child and Legacy Challenge Rules Updated for Toddlers & Vampires!

Hey everyone! Just a quick post to let you know that both the Legacy Challenge and the Wonder Child Challenge rules have been updated for Toddlers and vampires!

The Legacy Challenge hasn’t really changed much. You are welcome to make a vampire founder/heirs. Just bear in mind that since they are immortal you will need to figure out what to do with the older generations as the challenge progresses. Toddlers haven’t really changed anything in this challenge aside from adding an additional life stage to play.

As far as the Wonder Child is concerned toddlers added a bunch of new points and bonuses to earn so make sure you read over the rules carefully! You will NOT be able to use vampires in this challenge as that will eliminate the “time crunch” aspect of it.

The Random Trait Generator has been updated to include the new vampire aspirations (though if you decide you don’t want a vampire in your family or you don’t own the pack, you can simply re-roll). Toddlers also have their own Trait Generator for you to use as you need it!

As always, let us know if you have any questions!

A Brief Update – Sims 4 City Living & The Legacy Challenge

Hey everyone!

I know I have been pretty quiet in regards to site updates lately, but real life has yet again gotten in the way.

I just wanted to give you guys a brief update on where we stand with Sims 4: City Living. We are in the process of updating the Random Trait Generator right now, though I am not sure how long it will take to get the new traits/aspiration in. We will NOT be making a 2nd random trait generator for the house traits. You can choose those as you wish for your Legacy families. Continue reading →

Pinstar’s Official Ruling on the Wishing Well

09-02-16_8-44-26 AM

Hello everyone! I just wanted to quickly post about Pinstar’s official ruling on the Wishing Well that is added to the Sims 4 with the purchase of the Romantic Garden pack. I know a lot of you have been asking about this and we finally got a chance to sit down and decide what to do with it.

Pinstar recently Tweeted that the Wishing Well can be used once per Sim in their lifetime. So each Sim in your family can use it once and ONLY once in their lifetime. Make sure to make that wish count!

I will update the rules momentarily!

If you have any questions about this ruling, feel free to comment below or on our Discord server.

The Sims 4 Triple Boost Week & Our Challenges

TS4_823_AUGUST_DOUBLE_XP_01_003

While doing my daily browse of SimsVIP, I learned about the new free, optional event that launched today for The Sims 4. This event is called “The Sims 4 Triple Boost Week” and what it does is allow your Sims to gain skills or job progress three times quicker than normal for seven in-game days (you can’t have both at the same time) after talking with a Sims named Jasmine Holiday (either by phone or in person). This can be done as many times as you wish between the dates of August 22 and August 29, 2016.

So what does this mean for the Legacy Challenge, Wonder Child Challenge, Immigrant Challenge, and Apocalypse Challenge? Well, it will affect each challenge a bit differently. (Bear in mind the Boosts are OPTIONAL. If you don’t want to use them in your challenge, you don’t have to. I personally will not be using them at all because it feels a bit too much like a cheat to me.)

Sims 4 Legacy Challenge Rules Tweak (and a RL update!)

Hi everyone! Pinstar and I hope you all had a fantastic holiday season.

I just wanted to let you all know that we added a rule tweak in regards to Legacy lots. The gameplay rules state that a family cannot move from the lot you move the founder onto and must live on that lot for the duration of the 10 generations. However, with the addition of the 64 x 64 lots in Windenburg in Sims 4 Get Together, we decided that you are allowed to move an already established Legacy family from a 50 x 50 lot onto one of the new 64 x 64 lots ONCE during the challenge. Once they move to the 64 x 64 lot, they are not allowed to move again. The FAQ and Gameplay Rules sections have both been updated to reflect this tweak.

Finally, I also wanted to give you all a brief update on real-life stuff. As some of you know, we are in the process of moving. Well we finally have a house and will be closing on it in mid-February. That’s less than two months away at this point! EEK! Given how busy we will be with the move, there will be less activity on the Legacy Challenge website. I will still try to post the Stories and Let’s Play Lists when I can, but expect their frequency to be decreased for now. Once we are moved and settled in (hopefully by the end of February), I will be getting back to weekly and possibly twice per week posts here 🙂

Have a great New Year everyone! Happy Simming!

Legacy Challenge Rules Updated for Get Together

Legacy Challenge Rules Updated for Get Together

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to let you know that the Legacy Challenge Rules have been updated for The Sims 4 Get Together. Here is a highlight of what the changes are and where to find them:

  • In the Getting Started section we have added in the optional Extreme Start
  • In the Scoring Section we have added the following changes:
    • The Nature Collection still maxes out at 13 completed collections even though there are now 16 possibilities. You now get to choose what 13 you wish to complete.
    • For the 10th Popularity point you now have the option of earning this by earning all possible Club Perks for your Legacy Club instead of earning a gold medal in all of the different party categories.
  • Legacy Clubs are completely optional and can be created at any time during the challenge. They have the benefit that if you choose to, you can use the Legacy Club Perks collection to finish up the Popularity category without getting a gold medal at the parties.
  • The New Extreme Start Handicap has been added to the Scoring section.

The Random Trait Generators have not yet been updated to include the new aspiration and two new traits, but should be updated soon!

Want to see how we came up with these new rules? Check out my Preview & Playtesting series on my Youtube channel!

Finally… we have a surprise for you guys! You’re going to want to check out the website around 10 am EST tomorrow to see what it is!
