Hello everyone! I hope you all had a great week! As I mentioned in my Novella Movin Up On Challenge episode post yesterday, Pinstar and I were interviewed by Gita from Kotaku about the Legacy Challenge and how we met via the Sims 2. Huge thank you to Gita and Kotaku! We loved the article!
In the last chapter Crono aged up into Neo from the Matrix. Today we celebrate Marle’s birthday. I can’t believe she’s old enough to become an elder now!
Ever since Crono became a teenager his relationship with Ayla has really improved. She never really wanted to play with him, but now they more or less do everything together. They watch movies, play games, toss a ball around, etc. Maybe Ayla no longer thinks of Crono as her annoying little brother anymore and instead thinks of him as an equal now that he is a teenager? Who knows.
Later the same day, I caught the two of them having a tickle war as well. I believe at this point they are now considered BFFs. I think that’s really sweet. Siblings don’t always get along that well in The Sims games, but these two have been getting along really well lately.
Another promotion for Ti-Ning! He’s really moving on up the corporate ladder in his job! The extra income is really nice too. I have no idea what’s going on with Random Work Friend in the background there. She looks rather upset. Or maybe constipated. Or both.
The joy that Ti-Ning felt upon receiving a new promotion was slightly tarnished by the fact that he burned dinner. I’ve been trying to get increase his cooking skills so that we could try to reinvite the headmaster over. His skill is increasing, but thus far he’s managed to burn everything he cooks. I’m starting to think that maybe he wasn’t the best choice for household cook.
The following day brought a large snowstorm to the neighborhood and the kids were both off from school for a snow day. As you can see Crono really utilized his time to the best of his ability by… building a snowman… *sigh*
Thankfully Ayla actually DID use her time wisely and decided to work on her skills. She managed to earn three creativity points today. Go Ayla!
I can’t believe this is happening already. Marle is becoming an elder. The birthday from adult to elder is always bittersweet for me. I want to be happy that it’s their birthday, but at the same time I’m sad because I know what comes next. I don’t know if I’m ready to say goodbye to Marle. At least I still have some more time with her.
Marle: Oof… my spleen!
Yeah… growing old causes you to feel pain in things that you didn’t even know you had, Marle. I probably should have mentioned that earlier, huh?
One thing that I did notice that I forgot to keep an eye on was Marle’s lifetime aspiration. It’s not really as high as I would like it to be at this stage in her life. Hopefully I can get it a little bit higher before she passes away. I’d REALLY like my founder to have a platinum gravestone.

It is always sad when a Sim ages up to elder, but especially if it’s your founder. I totally get the bittersweet feeling! Hopefully she will be lucky and have lots of day left.
