A few updates

Hi everyone, just wanted to let you know of a few updates.

  • Most important of which is a fix to the Random Trait Generator that was preventing you from choosing a teenager trait to roll an adult. That has been fixed. You can now click the blue plus sign next to “Child Trait” to add a Teenager trait.
  • Since we’ve been getting a lot of questions regarding the trait generator, I have added some instructions to the top. You will notice that the Adult/Teen aspiration is showing up only under adults for the moment, which means that it won’t show up when you roll for a teenager. That is being fixed. In the meantime, just put in a dummy teen trait in order to get an adult aspiration for your Sim. I’ll post once that gets fixed.
  • Finally, I fixed a typo in the rule changes that made it sound like in order to get the Creativity point you had to do ALL of the creative dedications per Sim. You don’t. Choose one (painting, music, comedy routine, biography) per Sim.

Lovely! Thanks for the trait generator update and the more detailed explanation of how to use it.

Awesome! I’m one of the ones that asked about the creative dedications. I’m glad that’s been cleared up. I was stressing on getting all that done for each sim. lol

Okay now im a little confused about the creative dedications… Why would they need to be done for every single person in a generation? wouldnt it only need to be for in the first Gen the founder and spouse and then in the second Gen just the heir and their spouse so on and so forth? also can the founder in the first Gen do the dedication for himself , spouse and heir? or is that technically cheating? so confused… and this is the only section that seems to be giving me issues….

Hi Guys:
I am doing the Legacy Challenge with puntuaction and one doubt came to me.
My first sim married with another sim who didn´t live in the neighbourhood and inexlicably i got 20000 simoleons ,thing that i solved quickly substracting to the household using “sims.modify_funds change to the quantity of simoleons you want your family have.
The wife died before because she was oldest and i didn´t use the potion of youth, the reason was that i thought i could use one of these in the whole Legacy.I had a value heritor with my deceased wife;but now i want to married my widower sim again to have another son/ daughter. My doubts are? Can he married again? because in the puntuaction_LOVE_I read only can be a spouse in every generation,Since it is assumed that nine of the points means of the different features of the 9 spouses,1by generation.
In case i can´t marry a second time ,could bring a companion, bride to live in the house who give him a possible second heir, complying aspiraration, money, accomplishment to rate?Or is only allow to enter to the Legacy through marriage.
It would be interesting to have more one husband/wife(in case of death the thing would be that the features of husband /wife to give the final heir add to the puntuaction.
If you resolve the doubt or give me your opinion about it i would appreciate it because i want to do it right.
Thanks a lot.

Pinstar Legacy

There is a bug in the game that prevents your sim from re-marrying. You can use the cheat that lets you reset relationships to get around that. or just have them ‘move-in’ the new spouse as there is nothing against the rules regarding bringing in the new generation with an unmarried sim.

I have no trouble to remarried my sim to a second time. This second wife scores on the theme of the 3 different features. Thanks in advance.

Okay, i am wondering if any one actually saw my question… ya know about the immortalizing of sims? I’m still wondering if you have to immortalize the spare or only the main people? also can the founder immortalize himself, wife, and kids or is that technically cheating since his children are not immortalizing him but rather he is immortalizing himself? I kinda needed to figure this out soon before my sim gets to old and he dies….

You get one point for memorializing every Sim in the generation, including spares. However, there is going to be an upcoming rule change that will allow you to memorialize dead or moved out Sims. The only stipulation is that the Sim doing the memorializing had to have KNOWN the Sim being memorialized.

So your saying while i do not have to immortalize the spares if i dont want to, i wont recieve the point for doing it if i dont immortalize the spares… But, doesnt that defeat the purpose of immortalizing at all? Since immortalizing is about remembering your legacy but the only ones you will really play is the current generation your on and the child generation coming up…but once the heir is chosen the rest of the kids dont matter as much because they will move out and once they do you cant play them… Do you see why i got confused or am i just over thinking this???

No you do need to immortalize spares. I had replied with an incorrect answer at first, but I deleted it, I guess it must have still been sent to you. You need to immortalize everyone in the generation if you want the point. However, like I said in the correct reply, you can immortalize Sims once they have died or moved out provided that the Sim you are using to immortalize the Sim knew them.

To be honest, it confused me at first too. I’m still learning the rules myself and in every iteration of the Legacy Challenge (for the Sims 2 and Sims 3) we never had to immortalize the spares. We only did it if we wanted to. I’m going to need to talk to Pinstar about this…

Ok, I spoke to Pinstar about this and this will most likely be a chance in the next update. Don’t worry about memorializing spares. You can if you want to, but you don’t have to. That just adds a whole lot of unnecessary work for someone that is going to move out. An upcoming rule change will remove the spares from the point requirement. So treat it as if it’s already happened.

okay thanks luckily in my home i have not had any spares yet but i figured there would be that one generation that would have me having ten kids just to get like 1 little girl for an heir. Cause im using Strict Traditional with Strict Equality and the first born. So i did not want to have to immortalize like 9 kids who wouldnt even be sticking around for the family.
